Do you already have a Mechanical Engineering Degree? Have you ever considered a life at sea?

The maritime industry is crying out for young professional marine engineers to help manage the maintenance and operation of modern vessels, equipped with increasingly more complex and sophisticated systems.

The traditional route to a life at sea is our 4.5-year engineering cadetship programme, however, by holding a Mechanical Engineering Degree, you’re already halfway there!

With the IMEC bridging course you could obtain your marine engineer’s licence in less than 2 years, and soon be on your way to servicing and operating some of the largest man-made floating structures in the world. IMEC provides support and training in partnership with Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific, to ensure that you have all the additional skills and competencies to become a marine engineer, and all offered at a full sponsorship!

The course is offered in two stages:

Stage 1- Completing 10 months of marine based training at the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP)

Stage 2 – Onboard Ship training period, minimum of 12-months sea time.
