IMEC Participates in Women in Shipping Virtual Summit

18 Jun 2020

IMEC was pleased to participate in the Women in Shipping Virtual Summit on the 16th June, entitled, ‘Working From Home: How COVID-19 changed the outlook on flexible work arrangements, family and career progression’.

IMEC’s Head of Training and Operations Mr. Adam Lewis, participated as a panellist and drew on his experience after the organisation’s relocation out of London.  He argued that although he saw a degree physical presence in offices as important, he did not see the need for so many maritime professionals to commute into maritime hubs on a daily basis anymore.  Using London as an example, he suggested that should a company offer flexibility between working from home and days spent in the city, their talent pool could be expanded so much more.
